Mostly, I ready teen lit. And I have opinions on it. They are often not vastly deep, intellectual, or lengthy opinions, but sometimes they are. Sometimes they are on new books, and sometimes the books have been around a while, but bear reviewing. It depends on the book.
I don't know when I began reading mostly teen lit, but I have for some time. There's the odd Stephen King/Evanovich/ zombie/vampire/werewolf grownup book, or whatever Laurell K. Hamilton has just released, but mostly, it's all about the teen lit. Considering that as a teen I read almost exclusively adult fiction, I find this highly amusing. During high school I devoured my dad's popular pulp fiction novels of the times: Sidney Sheldon, Mario Puzo, with a hefty helping of Joseph Wambaugh and Eric Van Lustbader.
Now, I devour Maggie Stiefvater, Laure Haalse Anderson, Molly Black, and all the GLBT boy's club: Sanchez, Hartinger, and Levithan, among others.
I also read a lot of fanfic, and if you know what 'fanfic' is then you read fic, and we understand each other :-).
Right now I'm listening to My Chemical Romance and Adam Lambert. A little Kris Allen, by which I mean, a few songs; not that he is little, tho he is, actually, bite-sized in the best way. Yes, that American Idol ship has sailed, but I often wait for the vessel to take one full vogyage on the sea before booking my passage. That is, apparently, how I roll.
I have a lover and a Chihuahua named Jax, and a pissy kitty named Talullah.
And I read books.
I'll see ya'll around here!
